Realme is working on a new tablet, and the name and release date were revealed today. According to the brand’s official website, the Pad X will be released in China on May 26 at 2 p.m. local time. Although the original model showed a fancy green design, leaked photographs on Weibo revealed that two more traditional color variants are also on the way. According to the company’s CMO, the Realme Pad X will sport a Snapdragon 870 CPU, making it the brand’s first slate with 5G connection. We can also tell that it will have one camera on an unusually large island based on the photographs – it says “AI” twice but has no LED flashes.

The front-facing camera sits on the right-hand side when the Pad X is held vertically, according to the renders, with relatively thin bezels and flat sides. While we don’t know anything about the camera, we do know that the front panel will have QHD+ resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a large battery.

Moreover the render showcases a larger camera on an unusually big island. The terms AI are written twice but there are zero LED flashes. The new specifications show that it has one camera with QHD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate to make it 5G compatible. There are still six days before Thursday’s event, which will tease more features and specs of the company’s first 5G tablet.
