Vivo X80 Pro Review : Something Exceptional is Coming !

Last year’s X70 Pro+ was all about Vivo proving that it could go head-to-head with two of the biggest smartphone manufacturers such as Samsung and Apple in the premium segment. Now meet a new Vivo handset. The Vivo X80 Pro is a smartphone by Vivo. It doesn’t have the “+” in its name, but don’t be deceived; it’s the spiritual successor of the X70 Pro+ for all intents and purposes, owing to its similar specs and pricing. While I initially thought it was merely a little hardware boost over the X70 Pro+, I’m now convinced that it’s still a good one after testing it for the past few weeks, and here’s why. The general design of the Vivo X80 Pro is remarkably similar to that of the Vivo X70 Pro+. In India, it’s only available in Cosmic Black, which has a tiny gleam to it when exposed to bright light but otherwise looks matte black. The curved sides of the Fluorite AG glass on the rear and the Schott Xensation Up scratch protection glass atop the display meet the matte-finish aluminum-alloy frame.

While the Vivo X80 Pro’s matte materials are amazing at repelling fingerprints and smudges, they also make it highly slippery. Thankfully, Vivo includes a high-quality faux-leather case in the box, which provides excellent grip.

The majority of the design modifications can be found on the phone’s rear. A huge ‘window’ for the cameras, similar to the one on the iQoo 9 Pro, is present (Review). It doesn’t protrude too far from the back panel, and because it spans the entire width of the phone, it keeps it from swaying when laid flat. The primary, ultra-wide, and one of the telephoto cameras are housed within a circular ring, with the periscopic telephoto camera sitting just below it.
